Richelle A. Sugiyama is the Chief Investment Officer for the $22 billion Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho, where she is responsible for all investment activities of the organization. She has served in that position since October 2022. Previously, Richelle served as the Investment Officer for PERSI from 2001.In addition to her duties at PERSI, Richelle is a member of the State of Idaho Treasurer’s Investment Advisory Board; a member of the Boise State University (BSU) Foundation Board and Investment Committee; a member of the Idaho State Board of Education Committee for the Optional Retirement Plan (ORP); a member of the Idaho Community Foundation Investment Committee; a member of the St. Luke’s Hospital System Investment Sub-Committee; and represents PERSI on advisory boards. She previously served as a member and Vice Chair of the State of Idaho Endowment Fund Investment Board (EFIB) for 17 years, as a member and Chairperson of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Investment Committee for 10 years; and as a Board Member of the Pacific Pension & Investment Institute (PPI) and Chairperson of the PPI Membership Committee.Her professional experience and background includes having served as the Interim Deputy Director for PERSI; the Interim Manager of Investments for the EFIB; Senior Associate at an investment consulting firm; and Portfolio Manager and Operations Manager at an investment management firm.

Richelle is a member of the Membership Committee.
