Congratulations to Yuelin Yang, a Friend of PPI member, who was recently appointed a non-executive director of Verlinvest Asia, which opened an office in Singapore earlier this year. Verlinvest is the investment vehicle for three families in Belgium who own 28.6% of Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest beer company with a market cap of approximately 190 billion. Of the three families, the Mevius family, of Stella Artois fame, is into its 10th generation.
Yuelin Yang has over 20 years in senior management at an Asian multinational (Acer Computers) and an Asian family business. He is on World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council for South East Asia. Mr. Yang has been with IMC since 1995. As managing director, he oversees the Group’s industrial logistics and shipping units. He also represents IMC on the board of its joint ventures with GATX and Chevron. Previously, Mr. Yang was a member of the Office of Chairman Stan Shih and associate general counsel at Acer Computers in San Jose, California and Taipei, Taiwan. He began his career practicing law at Brobeck Phleger and Cooley Godward law firms in Silicon Valley. Mr. Yang is a member of Advisory Committees at Family Firm Institute, Insead and National University of Singapore Business School.
